The Foundation is able to provide grants to individuals in need of assistance
- usually for the provision of furniture - and to support the work of
other organisations working with people in need.
We
can be contacted on our dedicated telephone line that assures a speedy
response to enquiries or you can write to us by letter or e-mail. Each
claimant is visited in the home for an assessment of their needs.
A
new initiative has been developed to supply re-cycled furniture from our
own stock. These items are delivered to the successful applicant by the
Kensington Foundation.
Statutory
help that is available in the first instance:
Community Care Grant: To help people to establish themselves
in the community following a stay in accomodation where they received
care.
Budgeting Loan: An interest-free loan for people who have been
on Income Support or Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance for at least 26
weeks.
Crisis Loan: An interest-free loan to help meet an immediate
short-term need in an emergency or as a consequence of a disaster.
